Rice cooker sorted.
Got impatient with the waiting for sunbeam to get back to me.
(yes, I know that they are sleeping!)
Pulled it apart to have a look, cos I figure that the warranty is pretty much a non-issue at this point.
Turns out that the problem wasn't electrical... Was mechanical.
But by the look of the carbon residue, it has been a problem from the beginning.
I re-aligned the contacts, and we now have cook!
Turns out that I made another problem fixing the first problem.
Button will switch to cook when depressed, but no stay there.
I have figured out how the locking mechanism works, but not how the machine figures out when to stop cooking.
So! Will be watching it pretty closely over the next few uses. Sim timer!
