I totally guessed last Thursday that the special guest on Good News Week this week would be PM Kevin Rudd. Cookies for me. Will be interesting to see exactly how things go. :D
Long overdue icon meme from
futuresoon Comment here and I will pick six of your icons, you then copy and paste this in your LJ along with your explanations/comments/squeeage about each one.
From one of my favourite episodes of Press Gang called 'Holding On'. This is the main character Lynda waiting for her partner in crime - and sometimes in love - Spike to arrive so they can investigate a hypnotist who has been causing mischief around town. I really like the framing of this one.
Mr Flibble - the psychotic fluffy penguin hand-puppet from the Red Dwarf episode 'Quarantine' with his good friend Rimmer the hologram. He appears when Rimmer is infected with a holo-virus and starts hallucinating. One thing you must never do is make Mr Flibble cross, lest he fry you alive with his hex vision - twin beams of lasers from his eyes. Very bad indeed. :S
From The Emperor's New Groove - possibly my favourte Disney movie ever. After being turned into a llama, banished from his palace and becoming lost in the jungle in the middle of a rainstorm the emperor is not having the best of days. For use when you're just having one of those days. Thankfully doesn't get used all that often. :)
One can never have to many icons of Mr Flibble. Must keep him happy. :P
From the same episode of Press Gang as the icon above. A quote from one of the other characters to describe the relationship between Spike & Lynda. This is after the hypnotist has hypnotised them into holding hands and then run away leaving them stuck together - her wanting to go back to work in nailing the guy and him having to meet his girlfriend immediately in order to stop her dumping him. Both hilarious and heartbreaking in equal parts. :)
My favourite man of all time and longest and oldest crush, Paul McDermott. This is from an episode of Good News Week (an Australian satirical game show) from the finale of it's first run on 10. After a round called 'Buzzers Of Death' - which is just as crazy and dangerous as it sounds - Paul decided to distance himself from the fireworks and surprised everyone by scaling the set behind his desk. Much mayhem and explosions occured. I was sure there was a clip of this moment on YouTube but I couldn't find it. Here's a clip of what happens when you give Ross Noble a smoke machine instead. :D
