Journal #1 - The journey - Australia
2/23/06
Well it’s the start of my journey back home, so far everything has gone as planned except for one little glitch which was my fault. I wanted to book my bags all the way through but I forgot to bring the Qantas flight Itinerary and eticket summary. So the NWA Agent wasn’t able to send the bags all the way through to Melbourne but that actually turns out to be better. In my 6hour lay over I will now have something to do other than just twiddle my thumbs. I can do the whole check-in process again.
The flight itself is mighty full. Not surprised as this route doesn’t have enough flights to cover the demand. I got inked spilled on my leg from the lady that sits next to me. But its cool, I didn’t really care, I mean there just jeans. Why bother getting mad. She is pretty nice though, we talked for a little bit when her boyfriend went to the Loo. She has an interview in L.A for diatary physician or something like that. It is actually pretty cool. She has been studying the entire flight. Atleast its not like my Tennessee to Chicago flight, where there was a guy sniffing, and blowing his goddamn nose the entire time. I think like half of the plane knows each other too, like they all talk. I like that, nobody feels left out.
Last night has to be the most fun and emotional night all in one that I have ever had. I actually felt like people were my friends and I was loved. We went to Mongolian BBQ which might I say, is AMAZING. Then we all went and saw Date Movie, we didn’t get to see the start of the movie, but that is ok. Even though that is the best part of the movie. She dances and everything to a cool song.
My mother of course cried because I was leaving. She cried when I gave her a hug at the house when I opened her envelope, (she gave me wise words and $200, I thought it was a good deal.) so far I am winning at this game. She again then cried at the airport when I was leaving for security. It took 5 mins to get through the line, and then 10 while they looked in my bags through the x-ray, I guess I am a dangerous person. (hehe) not really, are you kidding, I may be freakishly strong, but I couldn’t hurt someone that didn’t actually come in contact with me. They are crazy.
This flight is going by pretty slow. I don’t know why, I watched Crash the movie on my ipod, and I listened to songs, even after that I am typing this message. O well. I will now play scrabble and hopefully that will make the time pass.
Well, I guess I gotta go.
This has been an updated from Hayden Singleton on my Northwest flight #337 from Detroit to Los Angeles.
