Scheyville Migrant Hostel - We were there.

Nov 18, 2011 23:33

I was in Scheyville, briefly, in 1956. Long enough to have my first BRIEF taste of 6th grade, Primary School. But not long enough to make friends. (I certainly went places in Bonegilla and later in Villawood and Matraville but cannot remember playing, or exploring in Scheyville.

From the Scheyville stay I also have no photos. My father had the little box camera and he'd been sent straight to Villawood. It was just my mother and me, in Scheyville.

Four years later Myriam was there with her parents and siblings. WE are now getting in touch, mainly with HER memories of Scheyville.

By the way.......I loved the play: "Under a different Sky", by Carla Moore. (Set in Scheyville and done so well!)
