Remembering Elizabeth on her Birthday
Today is Elizabeth's ( hansardgal ) birthday.
Elizabeth was a much loved member of the QAF community and a friend to many here on LJ.
Sadly, Elizabeth passed away suddenly last year and today is the first birthday without her.
I have known Elizabeth for over a decade. She and I were part of a small group of Aussie QAF fans - long before LJ, long before this wonderful community - back when yahoo mailing lists were still a thing and when we couldn't tell our Randy's from our Gale's and all we cared about was watching this wonderful show on a Monday night.
And my gosh we shared some amazing memories;
Today, on EJ's birthday I remember the time;
- When we stood on street corner in the freezing cold waiting for Gale to arrive for 'Suddenly Last Summer
- The way you looked after me when I got sick on the same trip and made sure I ate and rested
- The time you opened your home to be and let me bunk on your couch for a few days after I returned exhausted to Australia after 18 months in the UK
- All the endless times you made me laugh with your wicked sense of humour
- Late night latte's at Starbucks in Sydney because there was nothing else open
- Chats into the wee hours of the morning
- Advice you gave me when I was in my early twenties that I have never forgotten
- The time we stage -doored to get Gale's autograph and when it came to the moment I was too shy to go through with it so you got Gale's autograph for me. ( I will cherish that autograph forever!)
