So, I've had a pretty good Christmas. My brother got here... well, earlier than I usually like to get up on a day off, but not as early as he could have. Fortunately I was all ready to go except for my boots and a few rings. Then we headed off to the Parents' house, had a bit of breakfast bread and coffee, and opened presents.
This is including all family, friend, Secret Santa, etc. gifts received so far. Will brag about further things if and when they arrive.
-my pretty dolphin glass from McConnohangy
-my Hello Kitty plushie from a secret santa (I almost typed "sectumsempra", oops!)
-all sorts of candy (Hershey Kisses, Choxie, chocolate-covered coffee beans)
-a tin of my mom's homemade chocolate chip cookies
-collector's edition DVD of Bridget Jones's Diary
-page-a-day calendar of the stupidest things ever said
-blank journal with a cat on it
-book on Arthurian legend (this one is about Mordred)
-CSI computer game
-Harry Potter Quidditch board game (Cade, when you visit, I am making you play this with me!)
-snowflake stamp for next year's holiday craft projects
-cat salt and pepper shakers
-merged tribe buff from Survivor: The Australian Outback (I am so pretending it used to belong to Colby Donaldson... hehehe)
-four types of tea (lemon, orange, jasmine, and Earl Grey)
-earrings
-fancy yarn in a lovely shade of green
-sewing machine and sewing notions (which was the big thing I'd asked for)
-assorted cards from friends
Then we hung around a bit, I checked a couple things online quickly (or as quickly as I could do on my parents' slow computer... I forgot how sucky dial-up is!) and my brother showed my mom a couple things online. Then was the preparation and eating of Christmas dinner (Cornish game hens, sweet potatoes, mixed vegetables, cranberry sauce, olives, rolls, and pumpkin pie, with a glass of wine on the side.). And then my brother brought me home and helped me bring up my presents.
Changed the title of this last night. It looks like my check to LJ got lost in the mail as far as renewing my paid subscription goes, so I'll send a new one this week. I may even attempt to work up a new theme for it, although I'm still somewhat amused that the colour theme on this one is called "Lower the Curtain". (The style is just "Tabular Indent", which I like in that it shows off all my userpics but otherwise don't find too exciting.)
