First day on the job
I had a bit of downtime, so I'm posting a quick note... it being about lunchtime now and absolutely nothing is happening.
I've gone through the tutorials on the software program for booking travel reservations and did some practice on my own basically price-checking some trips and stuff without actually booking the reservations. It seems easy enough to use, so when there's actually some activity they'll walk me through making the reservations for the people myself. And I did a bit of research... ooh I get to be on the inside of all the travel information now, go me. I can look at people's records and stuff. *cackle* not that I'll do anything with it aside from know what kind of hotel room they prefer or if they need a specific type of meal.
So here's hoping the trial period continues to go well... I don't see any reason why it shouldn't; it seems like I'm getting along fine with everyone here and picking up on stuff as easily or more easily than my co-workers have. So as long as I don't "accidentally" book myself on a flight to Vegas or something, I should be good. I like it here so far... it's somewhat of a relaxed office atmosphere so I feel comfortable already, having a diet Coke or snack at the desk is fine as long as it's not spilled on the computer (lol), dress seems to be business casual which is good (heck the guy I'm working with now has on cargo shorts and a polo shirt with sandals, so I may be slightly overdressed today but who cares), etc.
More after I've done more, possibly after I get home. Ooh half the workday is done and it's gone fast. YAY!
