Hi everyone,
Unlike usual, this post is not about Taiga (WHAT!!!!!) or my fangirling randomness. Actually, I need some ideas for my senior design project. Hope that you can help me out. Let me explain:
My major is Electrical Engineering (I know, a girl studying engineering =_=). I'm going to graduate this December which leave me two more semesters. During these 2 semesters, all seniors are required to design and build some devices. The previous seniors in my department had made submarine, automatic transfer switch, windmill, laser rangefinder, plasma controller, etc. My team (consisting of 3 people) wants to do something fun and useful in our ordinary lives. That's why I want to ask you: is there anything you want that can make your life easier? Some ideas we have so far:
- my friend (who works as an IT staff in the hospital) notices that the oximeter device attached to fingertip gets in the way for the patients who always have to wear it. We plan to make it attached to the wrist instead. The problem is we don't have medical background to make it work.
- another friend's cousin told him that a smartdesk would be helpful for elemetary teachers. When the teacher gives question in class, some students are shy to answer in front of the others (like me lol). Therefore, if there's a smartdesk, the students can write their answers on the desk and the teacher can easily keep track of their understanding. But it's going to cost a lot to make it work. I don't want to spend couple of thousands of dollars for this project (Johnny boys need my money yo~). A group in my class gets a fund from some company so they have it easier than the rest.
-I suggest a snow melting device attached under the car, in front of the front tires (since I personally almost got in accident many times due to the icy road). If the device could melt the snow anywhere we go, there would be any accident/ traffic on snowy days. However, electrical students don't study heat (mechanical students do)
So please, just say any idea that you have in mind. If you wonder that your idea is too broad, impossible to make, just tell me as well. It's not like we do this by ourselves only (hahaha, we're still undergrad). We have our professors to back us up ;)
Check this out from the previous senior design projectsOh yeah, just in case you want to know what electrical students study, this is the list of fields we learn:
- Control system
- Electromagnetic
- Programming (there are many kinds of programming. The one Elec learn is hardware-software interface _ which is writing code that can make the hardware work)
- Power
- Electronics (Obviously =))
- Communication
Thanks for reading and I'm waiting for your replies ;)
