the journey home was intense. There was hardly anytime to pack. At least that was the case with thursday and friday. Thursday was mentally draining, between having to finish my first official canvas painting for class, while still being a potential member of an infirmary. I did however managed to go see the presentation of "Un dimanche a Kigali." It was a love-injected retelling of the genocides which occurred in Rwanda during the '90's. It was pretty intense, leaving some heavy feelings on me to top off the day.
I got to hang out with Lavon that night, although not my brightest move due to, in part, that i had an 830. However, getting up for class proved to be futile since that class was canceled, as was my 1030, AND 1230. This was aggravating having to get up for each class after getting no sleep, walk over, only to find out that class was not happening. I had started to pack, but time was short since Abercrombie needed me.
I hate the new manager. She's insensitive and lacks sympathy to be considered human. I'd been sick one day and called out and gave me an attitude b/c she had nobody to cover my shift, meanwhile i'm coughing and blowing my nose on the phone. OR the time where there was that snowstorm and commuting into white plains was almost as logical as sailing in fog. This chick didn't seem to understand that there was a limited amount of trains available at night, and that in order for me to get home for spring break on friday.
I was brooklyn-bound, stressing over packing and catching the train. The journey was long, especially with the heavy baggage, but ended at about 230am, when i arrived at Carlee's apartment in Bed-Sty. We were going to go out, but we were all exhausted, had a couple of drinks and called it a night.
The second leg of the journey home was just dreadfully long, since my anticipation to arrive on Long Island was overwhelming. I was could not have been happier to arrive, I'd been putting off visiting home since the break was close. (at least it seemed so, but it felt like an eternity as it was drawing closer.)
and now i'm home, perfectly positioned in front of the television, writing on my laptop, and watching "Monster In-Law."
cannot wait to start my traditional HBO on-demand "Sex and the city" marathon.
