Diane watches the crowd file into the fundraising dinner.
She hates these things.
She misses Gloria.
She is supposed to be here.
Diane has missed Gloria for all 604,800 seconds she was away.
She feels herself tingle when Gloria enters.
There she is.
The Devil with the blue dress on.
It’s more of a gown, really. But that doesn’t have the same ring to it.
Gloria knows how much Diane loves that gown. Loves the way it clings and accentuates her curves.
Cleavage in the front, low in the back, ruffled skirt swirling softly against her legs.
Gloria’s face lights up when she sees Diane, and she quickly walks toward her.
Resisting the urge to kiss in a way that would be considered “improper” for this party, they settle for a hug that lasts about a second too long and a kiss on the cheek.
Gloria takes the moment to press her cheek against Diane’s.
Diane lets her fingers linger at the small of Gloria’s back.
“I thought you’d never get here!” Diane exclaims as Gloria says, “I thought I’d never get here!”
“I missed you so much!” they both say.
“You wore that gown!” Diane says in a mock exasperated tone.
“You don’t like it?” Gloria asks, feigning innocence.
“You know what it does to me,” Diane says. “I feel like pulling you into the bathroom right now!”
Gloria’s blushes. “What would you do?”
Diane whispers:”Yank the panties down and hike your gown above your hips. I'd use my mouth, fingers and my tongue until you make those sounds that keep me awake nights when we’re not together.”
“What would you say if I told you I’m not wearing anything underneath?” Gloria asks.
“I’d tell you we’d better get inside the bathroom before I get down on my knees right here.”
Gloria’s eyes widen. “I’ll race you to the bathroom!”
Diane follows at a slower pace so as not to attract attention, but inside her heart is racing.
Gloria had been gone for 604,800 seconds.
She can’t wait to get the Devil out of the blue dress.
