This is one of the most interesting interviews I have read in a while. It explores the idea that Americans simply no longer have the will to protest anything and as a result, allow politicians and corporations to get away with anything. I do agree with parts of this article. But I think it ignores the fact that a lot of young people became engaged in last year's election, especially young people, and voted for a change. However, what I do wonder is what happened to all those people now, especially the young people. Why aren't they protesting the escalation in Afghanistan? Why aren't they protesting the fact healthcare keeps getting more and more watered down and could end up becoming a big giveaway to for-profit insurance companies? This piece argues that consumerism and corporate/government cooperation has simpy broken the will of the people of the country. That is a very terrifying thought.
