I found out last night at work that one of our managers got fired. It's kinda crazy. Besides that shocking bit of news, I had a really good night at work. Afterwards, Ayla and I went over to Cheesecake Factory again to get some cheesecake. Tina met us there not long after we got there. The same bartender from the other night was working, and he said hi and talked to us. He didn't seem to care about the ID situation from before, which was cool. He mentioned wanting to start coming and playing poker with us on Mondays. hehe. We relaxed and ate our cheesecake and talked about Jim getting fired for a while, before we went home and Ayla went out to the gym, and Tina and I watched Requiem for a Dream (well, most of it. Tina fell asleep and we stopped it until another night).
I opened the bar today at work. It was a decent day ... we weren't that busy, except I had to do close to 100 gift cards for people throughout the day. So many people getting last-minute Christmas gifts (speaking of which, I need to get pretty much ALL of my Christmas shopping done still. Ahhh!).
Bryan's back in town for a day or two, and he came in to visit at work. He sat and had lunch at the bar and we talked a bit, although I was kinda busy so we didn't get to have that in-depth of a conversation. After work I came home and sat around for about an hour, then I headed up to Roseville because Bryan was having a dinner party tonight. Ayla came too. Bryan had told me to dress nicely, and I was one of the only ones who actually 'dressed up'. Hehe, oh well. Jeff, Andrew, Tracy, Brittany, and two of Bryan's friends who I've met a couple of times but I can't remember their names, and one of their sisters, Katie, were there.
Bry made 3 different types of enchiladas, a salad, rice, and beans. It was all very tasty.
We sat around drinking wine or sangria (most people were drinking sangria, but I had brought some wine with me) and talked. Eventually most everyone left, except for Ayla, Jeff, Andrew, and myself. Bryan went to get food with the two girls whose names I forgot, and not long afterwards we left.
It was a nice evening, and it was really great to see Jeff and Bryan again. I hadn't seen either of them in a long time (Bryan since right before he left for LA, and Jeff since we went to Curiosa together well over 3 months ago).
My throat feels a little swollen, and I have a slight cough right now ... and I'm kinda afraid that I may be catching the strep throat that Tina had recently. I hope not. Ugh. It's not bothering me much right now ... hopefully it doesn't get any worse.
Time for bed.
