I pretty much always work Friday lunches, but for some reason this week they gave me Friday off. I took advantage of that and slept in a bit, which was nice. I woke up feeling pretty rested and wanted to do something ... so I decided that I would go gambling. It had been several months since the last time I went gambling.
I left Sacramento at about 11:30am and got to Jackson about an hour later. I was planning on playing blackjack, but on the way in I spotted the 4-card poker table, and had to sit down and play for a little bit. That little bit turned into a few hours, and at one point I was up over $700 from what I started with. The last good hand that I got was a 3-of-a-kind ... but it was three sixes, which I joked about being a bad omen. As it turned out, it was. I didn't really get any good hands after that, and wound up giving a lot of the money back. I decided to go to another section of the casino and actually play blackjack, but I passed a table I hadn't seen before and had to try it out. It was a weird version of Texas Hold-'Em, but there are only 5 cards instead of 7. It was kinda fun, but I didn't really make any money (didn't lose much either though, which is good). Finally I made it to blackjack and played that for probably 2 hours. I didn't win much and got bored with it after a while, and went back to 4-card poker, which helped me win back some of the money I had lost. I wound up leaving a little after 8pm ... after having spent the most time in a casino that I ever have (close to 8 hours ... I know that's excessive ... but hey, I haven't been in several months and I got caught up not only playing, but talking to the people sitting with me at the tables.). When I left I was down $140, but I had a lot of fun.
Having time to myself for most of the day was pretty fun.
Jeff and I had made plans to see Van Helsing tonight, so we met at the Greenback Century Theatres at 9:45pm to go to the 10:30pm showing. We had to stand in line to get into the theatre ... a lot of people wanted to see the movie I guess. All in all I guess that the movie was entertaining ... and Kate Beckinsale was hot as always. I think a lot of it was kinda over the top though, so I'm kinda undecided on whether or not I liked it.
I came home to my roommate in tears over a guy ... so I had to talk to her and comfort her for a while. :-/ I actually feel bad for her ...
Well, that's all for now.
