What's the deal with Moleskine notebooks? I mean, what's so great about them? Tell me. Am I missing out? They remind me of the water trend of 2002 (and on), and the disdain I had for Nalgene bottles at the time. Can I at least run over a Moleskine product with a school bus without putting a dent in it?

I meant to post this a few days ago when it was at it's most NEW! and EXCITING! but, as with most things, making a tunafish and pickle sandwich and checking my e-mail seemed more fulfilling. Anyway, I was commissioned to do some art for
Stereogum.com, which was great. The project was creating album art for a tribute to OK Computer for the tenth anniversary of it's release, which was cool... especially if you like Radiohead and particularly if you love Thom Yorke's eyelids and nostrils, which it turns out I do. Anyway, check out the post at stereogum (
click) to see the art Scott ended up using and, of course, listen to the mix. They've since posted b-sides as well. Here's some of what I made:

Things I would talk about in detail if it weren't for that damned aforementioned tunafish: Michigan! And how I went there and how it was so good. And the thrill of owning a tabletop ironing board and buying an onion FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE and how that makes me feel like a Real Human Being, or someone above the age of seven, anyway. And how incessently we, the cable deprived, watched The Dog Whisperer on the National Geographic channel every night. And penguins! And what their tummies feel like and how when you hold a thawing herring for too long, it's guts start to fall out! And the people I miss and the various states they occupy and how this morning I woke from a dream where, walking past a partially opened door, I saw you sleeping and all I wanted to do was press my hand against your back for a second but I couldn't. And how fucking shitty that feels, even when I'm asleep. And am I allowed to say that? I don't know, those things sneak up on you.
There are so many things I need to do. Find a place to live. That's one.
And Harry Potter! I'm trying to remind myself how excited I am to read the book, but I just end up thinking about working that event at the store (plus the day leading up to it and two more after it), and it makes me want to take a nap.
