I'm torn.

I was so sure I was going to do University of Phoneix... but now I'm torn. There was a representative from Rasmussen College who has contacted me. (And she's tried different ways. From calling, facebook, and email, so I know she's a real person) and she's been REPLYING TO ME AND ANSWERS EVERY QUESTION!! And it actually sounds like a great idea!! I just don't know! Ugh. T.T So... I am going to post what I've asked, what she's told me etc, and then when I am able to talk to the University of Phoneix rep, I'll post his answers etc. Okay, so first...

Q: Can I still do these courses even if I will be living in Arizona? (I know some places are kind of restricted to where you live...) and will I probably be charged as "out of state?"

A:You can still do these courses if you are in Arizona. There won’t be an out of state fee or anything like that. You want to take these courses online right? We do have campuses, however they are in the Midwest and Florida. So kind of far away from you. But you can do this degree completely online. So you wouldn’t need to worry about going to a campus for anything.

*(note) I had asked later in the email about where some of their campuses were just in case I wanted to go in person, which I probably won't because I'll be too busy it seems like. Wah.

Q: How long is the program? Do you offer summer courses so I can finish the degree quicker?

A: The program is an Associate’s Degree. So if you go full time it will be 6 quarters. There are 4 quarters in a school year. Full time is 3 or 4 classes. If you go part time, this will be 9 quarters. We do have classes that run through summer so you won’t have to wait. There are two week intervals in between quarters.

Q: And this is the degree that will let me work in the pharmacies, correct?

A:You will be able to work in a Pharmacy with this degree. You would work with Elizabeth Lintleman in Career Services. We offer career placement. So she will help you with your resume and cover letter, but will actually take this a step further and call into a pharmacy for you and help you get an interview. Just so you know that is a lifetime thing. So if you move in five years, or you want to switch jobs, call us back up and we will help you get an interview.

Q: Can I put it towards becoming a pharmasist as well? How easily would it transfer?

A:We have regional accreditation. So this means that it is the same as your state schools, so University of Wisconsin, University of Arizona, etc. So your credits will be more likely to transfer to another institution. However, it is up to the college you are looking at to decide which classes will come in. There might be some classes that correlate into a Pharmacy program, however I can’t guarantee which ones.

Part 2A:Once you have your degree you will be able to work as a Pharmacy Technician. Maybe even a year before graduation, once you have some pharmacy technician classes under your belt, you could talk to Elizabeth to see if there was an opportunity for you to get some sort of internship so you can build your resume.

*(note: I had asked the question weird, so when she got what I was asking, she added that. Also keep in mind I am taking questions and answers from quite a few emails, not just one. XD)

Q: How much financial aid will I be able to apply for (I need it for everything, due to the fact right now I can't afford to really pay for anything myself, except maybe a FEW books. Not many though.)

A:You would apply for financial aid using our school codes, then you would have an appointment with Stephanie. She would be your financial aid planner. And she would go over everything that you are capable of receiving.
Books are included in the tuition. So we ship those out to you.
We go by the cost per credit hour. So this means that it will include your textbooks, career placement, tutoring, online library, tech fees, software, etc. The cost per credit hour is $365. If you go full time we offer scholarships each quarter for our students. So if you take 3 classes you will get a $300 scholarship which will bring the cost per credit down to $340. If you take 4 classes, you will get a $500 scholarship which will bring the cost per credit down to $333. If you take a 5th class, there would be no charge for that. I wouldn’t recommend taking that much until you have had a quarter or two under your belt.
We are celebrating our 110th anniversary this year! So we are actually giving away 110 scholarships. Here is the link for you to take a look at the details!

Q: And how often do I need to log in for classes? I usually do every few days, but there times where I might be able to only log in once or twice a week.... I'll probably be working at the hospital or elsewhere in AZ.

A:We don’t have set log in times for our students, nor do we track logging in for grades. We recommend you log in about 3-5 times a week. Your assignments will be due on a Wednesday and a Sunday.

Added to A: I should mention that we have small class sizes, so between 15 and 20 students per class. The reason why we do this is because this will give you an opportunity to get to know your instructor. Our instructors have set office hours for you to reach out to them if you have a question on an assignment. If you have questions outside of the office hours, our tutoring service is 24/7. With tutoring you can actually submit a paper you are working on for example and someone will make suggestions on corrections. This will give you the chance to fix it up before you turn it in. :)

Q:I'm currently taking Eng 102 and a history class. And I have already passed Mat 110 (algebra) and Eng 101. How easy will it be to transfer these credits?

A:I have attached a transcript request form. All you will need to do is print this off and either fax it back to us or mail it back to us. We will send it off to the college and take care of the transaction. So you won’t have to drive to get the transcripts at all.

SO yeah... and we've been writing each other for a while now. O.O Awesome huh? I need to ask University of Phoneix the same questions... but the rep seems to only do phone? So yeah... good luck to me for finding time. Ugh. Unless I can go home early today...

What do you guys think? I need honest opinions. T.T
