I actually saw Alvaro's photo first and I had the same thought. Good thing they don't play for Liverpool anymore! Probably the first and last time I type those words...

Oh, but hey! I wonder how long it will take before the crafty youngsters (of which I am neither) manipulate these photos into clever Champions League icons!

Getting the heave-ho from Xabi Alonso... not a bad way to go. Maybe if you resist, he'll have to get a little rough with you! ;)

Yeah - as an Aussie, my very first thought was PALM OUTWARDS, MAN! (I am assuming here that it wasn't intentional...)

Here's why I think they did it: They want the V for vencer, but they also want the symbol over their hearts. It is very awkward to do that with the palm facing outwards -- I just dorkily tried with both hands with no success. So, I think this was their solution to that problem. (Okay, I've just thought WAY too much about this!)

In my experience, an offensive hand gesture is rarely a solution to any problem, LOL.

(No - I hear ya! It's still amusing, though)

Ooooh, I can't even really laugh at that... shouting unintelligibly (to the barman) while jerking one's arm up to give the two-fingered salute. Yeah, that'd go down well ;).
