Several people reading this is making me want to catch up too!
I figure the cut-tag text is not spoilery if you are reading shounen...
Spoilers face even bigger bads!
I am not entirely sure what is going on right now, as we have just been introduced to the Abyss Feeders (FREAKY!), the Awakened Luciela-Rafaela combo (also freaky!), and the possibility of the Alicia-Beth combo going out of whack (super freaky!). That said, I am most freaked out by the character design of the Abyss Feeders, thanks to the sewn-up eyes. Ewww!
Also, OMG, is that really the end of Isley? Wow! I did not expect that so fast. I really wonder what will become of Priscilla now, and if Raki in fact may be the final Big Bad instead of a yoma-fighting hero. Think of the angst that would cause Clare! Also, I selfishly don't want Raki to become a yoma-fighting hero and take any pages away from the black leather warriors of the North, who are the most kickass people to ever kickass.
I am actually kind of happy Riful and Dauf survived, since I find Riful dragging Dauf around by his hair (literally!) very amusing in a twisted sort of way.
Helen and Deneve continue to kick ass, though I am sure that is a surprise to no one. And Galatea is still in a few chapters! I have not yet given up hope on seeing Irene show up again too.
inkstone had comments about the Awakened Luciela-Rafaela being the dark side to the Teresa-Clare twin goddesses, which I had not thought about.
I am still disturbed by the sexualization of the female Awakened Beings. I think Alicia-Beth are the one exception, as their form reminds me much more of armor, but I am guessing if Beth loses control thanks to being stabbed by a mini-Luciela stick, they will get more sexualized? The association of demon women with sexuality is rather disturbing, since it's not like the Awakened Isley is shown to be hung like a horse (though theoretically, he could be).
I also love the warrior whom Helen and Deneve rescue deciding to follow along so she could say she was kidnapped, and her telling Galatea that finding Galatea wasn't her mission, so it has nothing to do with her.
