Hino Matsuri - Vampire Knight, vol. 03-04 (Eng. trans.)

I think coffeeandink covers everything (linking to tag to preserve spoiler cut), but I will attempt to write something.

In Mariposa, sophia_helix and sartorias were discussing Stephanie Meyers' Twilight, particularly focusing on the sublimination of desire and therefore having your cake and eating it too. I think Vampire Knight is an example of that done right; I cannot tell if ( Read more... )

Normally I don't like anime-adaptations of manga, but I think I will make an exception for this one.

The drawings were so sensory in the pages you showed me--phew, the UST indeed!

Bwahahaha! OMG I am dying to know what you will think of it, given the gothic shoujo crack.

There is probably more, but really, I am all about wee!Yuki and wee!Zero bonding over being vampire victims in the bathroom.

... it is less sketchy than I just made it sound, really.

They are so adorable! I just hadn't remembered that was Volume 3. Clearly it is time for a full-series re-read!

Kaname hasn't really had much trouble controlling his lust for Yuki('s blood) so far, though. He even knows about the illicit blood-sucking going on with Zero and has not burst out in a possessive male rage.

I know! I want to buy it now so I can flip through all the good Yuki/Zero moments!

Oh, wow, I completely missed that with Kaname. Possibly I just saw him looming about and assumed he must be overtaken with lust for Yuki('s blood), as everyone else in the series has been.

I feel Yuki and evil vampiress should have sex bloodsuck against a wall.

Well, he is clearly lusting, he's just not overtaken. He is a man who knows the value of delayed gratification.

And I totally don't care, because I ship Zero/Yuki ALL THE WAY.

YES. I am waiting for Kaname to turn canonically evil so Zero can kill him (I would say Yuki, but nothing so far gives me that hope).

You know...when this first made it stateside, I absolutel adored it. But there's something about Kaname(the whole "sexy possessive vampire who views her as a possession" thing) that just squicks me out so much that I could barely finish volume 3. Which is a pity because I really like Zero and Yuki and Zero/Yuki.

Oh, I mostly just ignore Kaname for the Zero/Yuki angst!

I managed that in the first two volumes, but I couldn't in vol 3 and just stared at Vol 4 when i saw it in the store. I so envy those of you who can just tune out that stuff and focus on the awesome...it's rare that I can manage that.

Well, I don't think there's quite that much tuning out, since Kaname's canonically not the love interest, his creepiness is being hinted at, and most of the focus is on Zero/Yuki.
