I have done nothing this weekend except lounge around in bed and read. A brief break was taken to lounge on the couch to watch The Jane Austen Book Club (verdict: Grigg is very cute. I have not been reading that much romance lately. This one doesn't sound like it will change that pattern, but I wish there was one that would.

What I want, I think, is a romance novel that gives me the same fix as the better trendy kdramas. But maybe I have to look for that in chick lit.

I know! I've been very off romances lately as well, for the exact same reasons. I've been getting most of my fixes from kdramas and YA POC chick lit; I tried some adult POC chick lit and I remembered why I tend to stay away from adult chick lit.

I keep thinking serial romance has the right idea, in that I want more time on character and relationship development, but so much of it ends up being boring trope stuff and all about the sexual attraction. You know it's bad when you start skimming the sex scenes.

Bwahaha, I am anticipating the Edwards' review! OMG! Did ladyjax ever mention that last week, we were in a used bookstore and saw a Cassie Edwards book on display.... with a giant post-it on the front saying "Plagiarized!" with further post-its in the contents pointing out specific passages?
