I shan't be sad at your dropping The Office, because I fully realize that it's not for everybody. Sometimes I look at it and boggle at how much I love it, because man, talk about an atypical fannish source.

Hee, worry not, I think sophia_helix is going to take another stab at pimping The Office to me. But I really do think my reaction to it is a very personal thing and much less a reaction to the show itself, since work in 2006 sucked rocks.

Oh, and the fandom has made me hate Jim reflexively (just like I hated Mulder and Spike and Logan reflexively), so yes, they will irritate you. But that's the TWOP crowd, and not the excellent (tiny) LJ crowd. :)
However: Heroes! Which I love! And Spooks, which I enjoyed over A's shoulder whenever I looked over! :)

I suspect it's always bad for me to have exposure to a show before watching, at least beyond general pimpage and premise explanations, since I get very ornery when I think I'm supposed to like a character.
