2006 TV round up

Jan 01, 2007 21:49

I didn't end up watching much live-action TV this year; I spent a lot more time watching anime and reading manga. I didn't start the year off with that many live-action shows, and since I'm a lazy person, I usually never watch a show during its first season. I let other people rec stuff. This year, I started off with Scrubs, Veronica Mars, and Good ( Read more... )

I love your Heroes and Spooks write-up! I still have two last episodes of S5 of Spooks to go, but I'm saving them, since we won't have any more until next fall. Stupid stingy British broadcast schedule! On the other hand, if they had to churn out 22 episodes/season, it'll probably be not as good, so I shouldn't complain.

I shan't be sad at your dropping The Office, because I fully realize that it's not for everybody. Sometimes I look at it and boggle at how much I love it, because man, talk about an atypical fannish source.

I still haven't watched 5x03 on, just because 5x01 and 5x02 crushed my heart, as Spooks is wont to do, and I desperately want to parcel it out so I don't have to wait as long till S6, as I am sure S5 ends on a cliffhanger.

Hee, worry not, I think sophia_helix is going to take another stab at pimping The Office to me. But I really do think my reaction to it is a very personal thing and much less a reaction to the show itself, since work in 2006 sucked rocks.

Yaaaay to people watching Heroes! Also, I highly, highly recommend Spooks, which surpasses Heroes as my favorite show -- not that I don't love Heroes, because I do!

And in general, I've appreciated you POV on movies & TV this year.

Awww, thank you!

Yes, that's the end of S2! And you definitely want to continue on into S3, because it is awesome and the Best Season Ever (tm), and S3 is also out on DVD.

I sort of feel bad that I showed you Office S1 first, because that was back when I didn't know how to pimp people into this show, and the first season is much meaner and less fun to watch. Nowadays I would have showed you selected episodes from the second season, which works much better at giving you a sense of why the show is funny and why I love it. If you come up this weekend, I'll play you some of my favorites. Way less work drama and more wacky good times.

Oh, and the fandom has made me hate Jim reflexively (just like I hated Mulder and Spike and Logan reflexively), so yes, they will irritate you. But that's the TWOP crowd, and not the excellent (tiny) LJ crowd. :)

However: Heroes! Which I love! And Spooks, which I enjoyed over A's shoulder whenever I looked over! :)

Hey, you have a second pass at me if you like ^_^. I am never adverse to being pimped to, though I never know what will take, since I'm lazy about downloading things.

I suspect it's always bad for me to have exposure to a show before watching, at least beyond general pimpage and premise explanations, since I get very ornery when I think I'm supposed to like a character.

Yay for Heroes and Spooks!
