Angel 4x19 Time Bomb

I still have no idea where any of this is going, and I love it ^_^.

It might have just been me, but I was finding echoes of the memory wipe through the entire episode -- the mother talking about giving her child a better chance, one that she couldn't possibly give him, even if that meant she had to give him up. Her wanting to be remembered by her husband. Gunn's talk to Angel in the beginning, about the worst part being the thin veneer of the perfect suburban lie over the basement.

That said, while the episode threw tons of surprises at me, it felt as though it was more moving things into place for the final few episodes (insert standard cursing and hexing of the WB). I have a feeling that after the finale, the main points of this episode will be much clearer.

I just sat there in shock when Illyria killed everyone, fearfully checked the time on my watch to determine that there was enough left to "fix" it, and tried to process again that she had just killed everyone. Reminded me of The Wish of course.

And I *heart* Gunn so much.

Was also amused at things that looked like fannish shout-outs: Illyria remarking on Fred's sticks-of-bone body, Lorne commenting on liking Hamilton a lot better than Eve. Hamilton is really cool and not at all like unto Jayne. It's rather scary how different Adam Baldwin is. Same with AA, who continues to stun me with the fact that Illyria and Fred share the same body.

Wes is really out of his mind. I'm wondering how much of it is from the unwipe. I'm also wondering if we're going to get more out of the unwipe or if Gunn has been unwiped. I also loved his half-assed, absent-minded apology about stabbing Gunn in the gut, and I adored Gunn's reply.

I want to know why Angel changed his mind, and if he did really change it about the case.

I also have no idea how next week's episode is going to tie in, but I'm going to throw that to the completely on crack promo department. But! Fanged Four!! In Italy!!!
