Annie's Cottage (4 star grading) is a large old manor house centrally situated in Springbok, the centre of Namaqualand in the most western part of the Northern Cape province of South Africa.
When we lovingly restored the manor house to its former colonial glory, ambience and atmosphere was never forgotten. Modern comfort was added to its portfolio of assets and the old world charm prevailed.
Our guesthouse is furnished with authentic Namaqualand cottage furniture and South African art. We can accommodate 26 people in our 11 luxury en-suite rooms, all with doors leading into its own special place in the garden.
Enjoy modern comforts such as ceiling fans, cooling and crisp white Egyptian cotton bedding and feather duvets as well as electrical blankets and MNet/selected DSTV channels, fully stocked mini bar, robes, toiletries Internet connections, coffee/tea facilities. We also provide a kitchenette, barbecue facilities and safe parking.
On typical hot summer days relax in our beautiful cool garden and take a refreshing dip in the swimming pool under shady old Jacaranda trees.
Classic little shops and fine restaurants are only a 500 metre walk away in the old town and a lively central open market where a happy atmosphere invites all to stay a while. Hiking, biking, 4x4 and horse trails are also nearby.
The peaceful town of Springbok offers many attractions, historical sites and museums, and is the ideal base from which to explore the famous Namaqualand wildflower reserves.
Namaqualand is a wide and beautiful semi-desert region, dotted with giant granite boulder stacks. Between these "koppies" the outstretched sandy savannah land becomes in Springtime (August and September) "God's own garden", when the wild spring flowers burst into a kaleidoscope of colours.
Springbok also is the gateway to Namibia, as we are only 120 kilometres from the border at the Orange River. We offer you the ideal stopover from Cape Town (554 km), Johannesburg via Upington (1274 km) and Richtersveld National Park (315 km).
