Every once in a while, I become aware of things that are *good* ideas - not blatantly so, but so much so that once you have them, you don't want to be without them.
Some of these are old enough and common enough that we tend to take them for granted - running water, *hot* running water, cooking without wood or charcoal, electric lights, electric windshield wipers.
Others are newer but still dirt common - windshield washers, air conditioning.
Then there are a few that are new enough to be on my list of 'recent discoveries' - automobile GPS, portable GPS, heated mirrors...
And the newest brilliant idea? A remote control for the air conditioner. You set it for what you want to cool yourself down when you get in. You tweak it as your mood and activity and temperature change... and as you are drifting off to sleep, you readjust for overnight low metabolism, while not getting up and waking yourself up all over again. Delicious!
