Research papers, pics from the art gallery, & my pathetic attempts of trying to be antisocial.

Sometimes it's good to procrastinate. April 5th my research project on the importance of women in society is due, the following day, my 5min speech on how to relieve stress (which ironically is making me more stressed just thinking about the pile up of research papers.) It's weird though, because it seems the longer I procrastinate, the better atuned I am, enabling me to fully immerse myself in a research paper/project that'd be due quite soon. If I don't post for a week or so, this is why. After this, I'm going to try & focus soley on my research papers.

Anyhow, nothing much has been happening in my neck of the woods. I've been briefly hanging out w/ my little group of friends (including doing lunch w/ Kera whilst we both flirted w/ one another & pointing out hot looking pedestrians outside, chatting w/ Francisco, etc.), watching DVDs w/ Doreen & others, acting weird w/ amigos, while all of us pretend to be on a talk show & confessing things that aren't true (such as Lynnma pretending to be pregnant w/ twins & knowing that only a boot camp counselor might be one of the baby daddys, etc.), friends telling me about personal problems & visa-versa (supposedly Luxon lied about having sex w/ Zakiya's cousin & said mean things about Lynnma being "fat," so weird, I'd never thought he'd be like that, etc.), & other things like that. I'm trying to avoid people to concentrate on my research papers, & I mean, really trying to avoid being around or talking to friends (on the phone,  in person, via cell, via AIM, etc.), but, as you can see, I'm failing miserably. It's sooooo hard for me not to socialise!!!

I'm thinking about quitting my job at Cosi (restaurant,) to work at the same job my sister has (a cashier at a gas station; paying $1.50 more, no tax taken away, longer hours.) The $$ is tempting, but the negative aspects will be no insurance, long hours during the weekend, & I'll be the only person working. These things will have a strain on my social life (w/ long hours at night & no employees to even talk to), & perhaps negatievly effecting me academically (I plan on taking a short-term summer course & want to go somewhere for vacation.) I might be training tomorrow, just to "test it out." I'll be working alongside my sis or Sam (the owner) to learn the basics, but once I'm alone, I may be somewhat suseptible of getting a cap in my arse by a robber sticking up the gas station/convenient store. Whatever. I'm still undecided, & with all the research workload I have at present, I'm not sure. I'm very undecided, confused, & hesitant whether I should keep my current job (having less hours & less money, but has insurance, willing to work around my college schedule, friendly people, etc.) or get the job where my sister works (more money, more hours, but less time for socialising, no insurance, no employees, etc) :-/

I leave you with a some pics from the art gallery showing from last weekend. Unfortunately, since my dial-up, ancient computer w/ many non-working devices, isn't functioning, & the fact I can't find the cord that hooks up my digital camera to the comp (& the fact that the pics wouldn't load anyways--b/c of it freezing from all the pic uploading,) I have these pics to show you all. I can't take credit for snapping them, but the pics I took on my cell phone are more or less the exact same thing.

(abstract art, interpret it however you wish. I personally had no idea what to make of it.)

The cow painting had fur on it (don't know if it was faux fur or real)

(Some flying toy a little girl had inside.)

(KFC's Colonel Sanders is Michael the Archangel) I liked these paintings a lot. They were a mock of how fast-food chains & big corporations in general are America's new religion (basically we worship money as a god, & business & greed are our religion.)At least this is what I gathered from the paintings.

(Burger King's king is the Pope, Wendy's Wendy is the Virgin Mary)

McDonald's Ronald McDonald was Jesus, but they took the pic at a bad angle, so I decided not to post it.

The rest of the pics can be found at http://www.smokegallery.com/page15.html

Okay, now I have to get back to my research papers.
