Sketch club: Hella cookies and sketchosity and wonder at Caili's.
Backyard camping: Lucy and I went out on Wednesday afternoon after a good grocery shop. I have a very interesting tan line on my back from the ties of my swimsuit. We washed our hair in a tub of boiled water from my creek. Matt and Andy drove out to visit us in the wilderness on Friday. It was fun. It was day camp for them. Then after they left, we wrote some nice letters to Ally, who's off somewhere in god knows what National Park in the actual wilderness. And yeah. Then we came home [it was really a mere 40 feet for me] on Sunday and went into town. You must think that we're crazy for staying out in my yard for so long. But it's a tradition! And it's amazingly fun.
Yesterday: I went into town early and biked over by Matt's house, but I was too early to go to his house so first I went to Monroe park and sat at the top of the slide being emo and listening to music. Nobody was there. Except some squirrels... yeah, fun. Then I went to Matt's when it was 9:00. We went down to get breakfast at Friendly's, and then later we went to Market Of Choice for lunch. I got spanakopita!!!!!! I crossed it off my life goals list when I got home. And it was another one of those days where Matt and I crave ice cream bars but we're at a grocery store so we have to buy a whole box, then we eat the whole box. That happens sometimes... We took our food to Amazon Park and ate it under a tree, and then tanned for a while and went back home. Yeah. It was nice. ♥
Today: I woke up and ate breakfast and contemplated going out to lay on my raft in the pond and tan, but then I decided that a better use of my time would be to drive into town and read or do chem packet at River Road park. And then on a whim I decided to drive this complicated back way that goes through Junction City. And I didn't really understand the route, but I made it just based on memory. And not like, memory of what the roads were called, either. It was more like, "Hmm... this road looks familiar. I shall take it and see if it's right? And it so was. I almost didn't take it, but then I decided to and turn around. And I was like.. fuck yeah. Gotta trust your instincts. So then I got to the park and there were actually about 50 thousand day camp kids there in different shirts from their different day camps. I read for a while, then listened to music. I watched these two little boys throwing rocks at a butterfly. [Does anyone else realize how awful that actually is? WTF.] Then I left and got gas and a popsicle and went to my piano lesson. It was pretty much an hour of amazingness. 'Cause I sightread a lot of Ben Folds music of joy. And basically I wanted to learn this one song "Landed" but I hadn't started it yet because the rhythm was kind of confusing and I kind of suck at sightreading. But today my teacher started me on it. And the most amazingest part of that is that I am learning it backwards, like one page at a time. So now I get to play this page of like... 16th note octave scales and piano pounding and piano sex, since it's the last page. Instead of learning it from the beginning. After piano I drove back home on the tricky back way and then I ate this chocolate bar that I had got and left in the glove box. It was liquid. It was soooo hot. Anyways... now I think I might take myself up on that offer of laying on the raft and tanning.
