So, about Waters of Mars
Dear BBC,
I love Doctor Who, I really do. And I did like Waters of Mars (although I suspect I'm not as crazy about it as the rest of my flist), and the Daleks shouting "Exterminieren" in the season four finale was genius.
But seriously. Is it so hard to get native speakers to write and act your German parts? When the Daleks had an accent and some weird turns of phrase, I accepted that. Their English is not exactly normal, either. But the old woman was laughable, and the little child in Waters of Mars? Made me cringe. A lot. I couldn't even understand half of what she said. Also, your screenwriters/translators need to brush up their vocabulary, because I believe people in 2059 are not supposed to talk like people from 1959. And clearly, the girl had no idea what her lines meant, otherwise she would have used some inflection. She sounded like a robot. You couldn't even distinguish where her sentences started and ended. Was that really necessary? Is your budget so strained?
*sighs* Oh well. It's probably just me. I'll shut up now.
