i'm not sure how long it'll take before hearing "aboot" stops being funny. hopefully never.
the accents here are great. things look much the same for the most part, but this morning (on the second ride of the trip that we hitched) our driver "russ" took us on a tour of the 'coastal' mountains (i'm assuming they have other names). seeing that made all of this feel real. i cannot explain how nice it is to see landscapes. no buildings for miles.
even though mis and i are only two days into the trip, we've already met some characters. the guy manning the intercom on the train we took yesterday ended EVERY announcement with "HIYA!" at first not it seemed a little odd, but by the end of that trip it was hilarious.
last night was spent in a tent set up in a community park. families where there pushing their children on swings, looking at us like we were insane. but no one called the cops.
we have no idea where we're sleeping tonight.
right now we're in kelowna. middle-ish/eastern BC. we'd like to be in alberta by this evening or tomorrow. as soon as i finish this up we'll hit the road again. holding up our sign that says "east".
more to come
