Bath & Body Works

I havent updated this for some time. The reason why? ---> procrastination got the best of me. sometimes i wish i can just force myself to do things but anyways.(i am my own enemy)..

For those who dont knoe yet cause i didnt post yet. well until now. I work at Bath and Body Works at Serramonte.

It was very stressful and hard for the first two weeks (first day:June 4). I cried and stressed out about it at home for those couple of days. I knoe im just a baby. but im not a quitter like some girl that quit the first day she was on the sales floor and blamed it on the scents of the lotions shes allergic to. shes such a liar. if she was allergic i doubt she would apply there and could stand the conditions in the store while she was on training. xp.

we moved to a new location (across from surf city) and it got a lot harder than in our temporary location (near target).

difficulties being a BBW associate:

- call-ins (these are days scheduled that i have to call in two hours prior to scheduled time to see if i am needed to work) *sometimes i am not needed:meaning i cant schedule plans with friends anymore because its too last minute.*

- demo card (i have a card that has different tasks on it.*will give examples later* and if not completed to store managers expectations...
here's some examples of the tasks: >convert "lookers" to "buyers" 40%
>sell bodylotion,spray,and wash as a system to 30 people
>add shampoo and conditioner to customer bag (45 poeple)
basically stuff like that...

- scheduled hours (hours are based on performance on demo cards. a lot of customers think that we are on commission but we're not... we just work hard to get more hours to work harder and the better performance the more definite hours we get and less call-ins)

-counter. There's a counter in the entrance so the computer will show how many people came in and how many people we didnt convert to buy. the goal of our store manager is 40%. I get really stressed out when we dont make the goal for conversion rate. Before the most important thing is the money earned for the day goal and units per transaction goal but now its mostly conversion.

with all these factors. i need to step up my game in being a sales person. I in a way get pushy everytime my store manager yells at my manager and i feel reallie pressured to sell. The store manager wants us to be more of a caring friend to customers more than a salesperson but how is that possible when im stressed out and all i can think about is to sell sell sell and not help help help?
