They don't understand you on a lot of levels, but I think that's the whole batchelor thing.
I'm also a lot more permissive than you are deep in your Virgo soul. Or your Big Boss White guy thing. OR maybe it's being from Midland, and raised by straight Republican Presbyterian parents :)
Whatever it is, and as alike as we are on so many levels, we have different parenting styles.
And it's a learned skill. I've had many more years experience. You're almost indoctrinated good.
And Lil Big crushes on you in a large way. She's started to say things that you say, and do things that you do. I'm convinced that the amazing woman she will grow up into will be influenced by you in no small part. This is also true of the boys, but due to their age and the smaller part of time we have left with them entirely home, it will be slightly diminished and I'll have to bank on my own good influence in those early years.
You are a great daddy. You just didn't know it. But like that thing about you needing a big dog, I knew it for you.
