Oh my God, this is so awesome, and you are awesome for writing it for me! I love your insight into their relationship, and I really love the notion that young Amanda is somewhere still inside Emily, and that Nolan will be there to look after her and maybe help her find those lost parts of herself.

The relationship between Emily and Nolan is my favorite thing about the show. Thank you so, so much for this lovely piece that gets right to the heart of what I love so much about them. You're the best, my friend!

It's probably entirely wishful thinking, but I think if anyone can help bring the kind, loving side of her back to the surface, it's Nolan. I don't think even Jack can do it - he has no idea who or what she is these days - but Nolan wants to, both for David's sake and for Emily's.
