Woot! :D What have you got them for? (My cousin managed the Men's 100m final which is very cool, but you're the only other person I know who's managed anything).

I've got them for the men's pentathlon, the afternoon session, so I get equestrian, running, shooting and the medal ceremony. Just over 4 hours, in Greenwich Park. I nearly went for a rowing session as well, but I decided to be sensible and not overspend.

Getting the Men's 100m final is amazing! I looked for the Men's 100m relay final, and the only tickets left were about £450 and £725... If you're guessing I didn't try for one of those, you're right!

Wow... you're going to be in London for the whole thing. :) Hope it's not too much of a trek for you.

Greenwich is beautiful, my Grandad lived right on the Heath near the entrance.

He's seriously chuffed. It is funny, though I don't think it'd be my top choice of event. It's the shortest and the winner is already fairly certain. But then I like odd sports, archery would have been fun.

I often have a day in London, so it'll be easy enough, though I imagine getting out to Greenwich from the centre will take longer than usual. And yes, it's a lovely area, though last summer the park did look a bit odd when they cordoned off the Olympic area in practice.

I was thinking about archery too - I meant to do it at school, but ended up doing fencing instead - I can't remember why now, but I'm still fascinated by it. There are still some sessions for sale, actually. I've been eying them up.

I always found Greenwich such a pain to get to, for Grandad's funeral it was quicker to drive. But it is such a beautiful place, we used to walk the dog down there.

Your school offered archery? Wow, mine was not that good! I did a little through Aylesbury Vale but I'm lefthanded and righteyed, it's not a good combination for shooting straight! Still, was fun, we had an instructor who used to do Robin Hood and Legolas poses. :D

I hope you take lots of pictures of the events, I shall be hiding from it all!

I've only really started exploring Greenwich in recent years - I think before last year I'd only been out there a couple of times.

One of the advantages of public school: lots of 'exotic' sports!

I did a little through Aylesbury Vale but I'm lefthanded and righteyed, it's not a good combination for shooting straight!

That made me laugh! I have actually no idea if I'm right or left eyed! Or how to tell, even!

I hope we'll be allowed to take photos - I imagine it'll be okay - in which case I'm sure I'll take lots. I might even fish out my actual camera, rather than just using my iphone.

I did a lot of exploring of it when I was younger, really must go back.

Hehe, that sounds awesome! I can see the advantages of a public school - we had to pay for our own biology A level textbooks because the school budget had run out. And I went to a small town grammar school., dread to think what the inner city comps were like. Still, we did do some useful things, I am practically lethal with a hockey stick!

You tell by holding your hands up and aiming, it's to do with which way you compensate with the dominant eye.

I can't imagine they'd try and stop it unless it was interfering with the events. And as long as it's sunny (ish) there shouldn't be any need for flash, right?

We were pretty spoilt in many ways, I guess - we had three libraries, for one thing!

I've tried doing some fake aiming, and I appear to be right eyed/handed, so maybe I'd be okay at archery! Not that I see myself ever taking it up - too many things I'd love to try, but just don't have time for.

I can't see that they could possibly police photo-taking, so I'd imagine they'd be fine about it as long as it wasn't disturbing anyone. And no, flash would probably be pointless at a distance anyway. And hopefully the weather will be nice!
