Gilmore Girl drabble: The End of an English Novel

Feb 16, 2009 18:10

Thank you so much to everyone who left such lovely messages for me on svmadelyn's Valentine's Day Game - there were a few tears in my coffee on Sunday morning. And if you haven't checked it out - do! I might just have left some messages there.

The End of an English Novel [Gilmore Girls, Dean/Rory, PG, first time, schmoop, 100 words, 4.22 coda. For zooey-glass04, just because.]

"There is no happiness in love, except at the end of an English novel."
Anthony Trollope - Barchester Towers

They're a tangle of arms and legs, and her bed's too small, but it's Dean, her Dean, and she can't imagine being anywhere else. He laughs, warm ripples that she can feel as much as hear, hot against her neck, and when she asks him why he tells her it's because he's so happy. She laughs too, then, an equal overflow of happiness.

He surrounds her. She feels complete.

Later, when they're falling asleep, he whispers I love you and she says I love you too; if she could, she'd press this moment between a book and keep it forever.
