Hee, my five year LJ-versary was on MY 21st birthday in December! I should make a celebratory post with music, what a good idea. Although yours is making me simultaneously sad and gleeful, as a) The National are in Sydney at the moment and I can't afford to go up and see them, WOE, but b) Beirut are coming in March and -- considering I'll be LIVING in Sydney by then -- no power on earth could keep me from going.

It was the quickest celebratory post ever - I was all omg, have to be quick or I'll be posting a day late. And seeing as I don't think I've yet managed to remember my lj anniversary on the actual date, I had to this once.

That is a woe. I was mad with myself because I missed them when they came to the UK in November - I could have caught them in London or Birmingham, but I didn't find out until too late. I just hope they'll play one of the big festivals over here this summer. At least you'll get Beirut though, that's something!

I had to double check the dates on my profile page, because I found it really hard to believe I'd been around in fandom that long. It's such an addictive place though, and I've met so many fantastic people.

Same here! A lot of my friends from Usenet days are on LJ, and we just sort of moved in this direction.

When I can't have my internet, I feel like I'm blind, for real.
