Smallville 5.04 Aqua

Oct 23, 2005 22:48

Finally got to see this last week's Smallville.

Another step in the evolution of Superman, and while not quite up to the standard of previous weeks, still a good episode, in my opinion. It was particularly nice to have a well-meaning FOTW.

My favorite moment: when Clark walks out after telling Lex that he'd defended him, and Lex looks cut up, but just for a second. There's just that momentary flash of regret, and then Lex is back to plotting and scheming.

I guess parts of the episode would have meant more to me if I knew more about the Justice League, though generally the points about Aquaman were dropped unsubtly enough even for me. But taking a look at Wikipedia on him, what a lovely opportunity for a Smallville/Stargate Atlantis crossover - seems he's traditionally considered to be the son of Atlanna, an outcast from Atlantis, for anyone like me who didn't know anything about him before.

Lois' turn for Superman colors this week: that last scene between Lois and Clark was a nice hint of what could be for them.

We likes episodes set at Crator Lake, we does. They should all be set there. *nods enthusiastically*

Would someone remind me of oilman!Professor's name, so I can stop calling him not!Spike?

Not a great cap, but doesn't Clark look so pretty here?!
