So I've decided that when I return to Florida I'm going to apply to UT. I'll be taking their Pre-med curriculum (which technically isn't a Major, I'll have to Major is some sort of science, even though science isn't a required Major... just so long as I have the pre-reqs needed to apply to their Med school) I was thinking of Majoring in Biology or a Health type course. Applications aren't due until March 1st, and according to the site, most applications are understood to be 6 months in advance to your actual enrollment. Maybe I won't have to wait 6 months since I'm technically not a "Freshman". I'm not sure.
It's all very confusing, but I'm determined. If and when I'm accepted, I suppose I'll talk to the scheduling advisor, explain my whole change of heart regarding my original Major and that I want to go into a Pre-med field. Potentially get my M.D., become a surgeon, etc. My mother's ex fiance's mother is a big Admin over ORMC, which is in conjunction with Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. She loves me. Anyway, to get to my point, she won't be retiring anytime soon, so I'm going to talk to her about the possibilty of in 7 years if there's a way of being able to do my internship and residency there. They have a fantastic pediatric program that does everything from In/Outpatient surgery to Trauma, ICU, General & Thoracic surgery, as well as teaching medical students (future me) and residents for fellowships in their specialty field.
Hopefully with her pull, provided I make the grades and do well in Med school, I'll get into the Children's wing of ORMC or possibly Arnold Palmer. /Squee~ So yeah, not much else to add.
