Smokey
Yesterday we said goodbye to the greatest cat in the universe.
My buddy, Smokey. We lost our other fur baby, Ashes, a couple months ago, prior to me jumping back into journaling. Both losses were devastating. :( This was my first experience euthanizing a cat, and I never want to have to do that again. When I say he was the greatest cat in the universe, I mean it. He was the most loyal, easy going, just all around cool cat. I bottle fed him when he was a baby, and we were best buddies through some of the best and some of the worst times in my life. He let my girls dress him up, carry him around, etc, all without batting an eye or lifting a claw. He will be forever missed, as well as Ashes. The only thing giving me comfort is knowing they aren’t sick anymore and that they are together again, best friends. We tried to give him a wonderful final day by giving him a cake, taking him outside in the snow (which was his favorite thing when it snowed!) and just giving him a ton of love...
