8. Erik or Charles?

CHARLES.
Even in the comics.
As much as I love Erik & his awesome power, his theory is a bit … herm (Hello Erik, you’re mother was human & human give birth to mutants, killing them all would just drastically drained the gene pool & probably leads to your own extinction… so yeah, Charles is way too optimistic but I pick him).
I also love Charles because I think he is not naïve at all despite all the “naïve harmless rich boy” vibes he gives off (perhaps I’m biased by the fact that his comic!version is darker). It’s just a disguise. I see him as “purity without innocence”.
He is also far from perfect.
Charles is a control freaks & an arrogant bastard with a big ego who desperately wants to be good/perfect but really isn’t. In fact he can be a complete asshole sometimes, downright lethal (more often in the comics than in the movie) and on the mindfuck side from time to time.
He is selfish & stubborn & sometimes too hopeful, but I really admire him for having hope in humanity when you’re able to see all the dirty shit going through people’s mind.
It’s harder to be optimistic than pessimistic.
I EVEN LOVE THE FACT THAT HE HAS NO SOCIAL SKILLS & LIES A LOT (aka fails at being a decent brother all the times)… he kinda reminds me of the Doctor…

{Also, my love/stalking of James McAvoy biased me & made sure that there would be no competition in this movie… I barely realised Erik existed until he & Charles talked with CIA guy about Cerebro & recruiting mutants, I was too busy ogling Charles/James.}
