Oy.  I have too much to tell, really.  I'll try and condense it (not to mention remember it all!).

Last week I spent lots of time with the fam, including my nephew Michael, whom my parents kept for the whole week.  One day we went to the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science to see the T-rex named Sue; Libby and the munchkin came along, and I got a cute picture of them.

Earlier that day we were trying to get Jake to pose with the new Harry Potter book, and we got this picture:

On Wednesday I had lunch with the ladies from the law firm.  It was great to see them!  They are a wacky bunch.  :)

Also on Wednesday I ran around like a crazy person getting ready to go to Iowa City.  And then saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Libby.  Adored it.

And on Thursday morning, armed with Chick-fil-a chicken biscuits, my friend Ryan and I headed out for the 12+ hour drive to Iowa.  We skirted around St. Louis and headed straight up through Iowa on a four-lane highway.  We saw lots of corn.

And on Friday we started looking at apartments.  Quite a few of them were unliveable holes, but the apartment management guy sort of wised up and showed us some non-hole ones toward the end.    After the morning, we drove around Iowa City and saw the campus, which is pretty darn neat, and went to the mall, which contains a plethora of fantabulous shops.  We went and looked at a few more hole-like apartments, ate at a Steak and Shake, and called it a night.  Saturday morning we went to look at an apartment in a house owned by this really nice family, and although it would have been a good place to live, the place was freaking tiny.  I'm not even sure I would have been able to fit my bed in the bedroom, much less my other furniture.  So yeah.  That was it as far as the apartment hunting, and I decided to go with one of the ones I'd seen Friday morning.  I just mailed the lease and checks back to them, so I'm now the proud renter of a two bedroom on a quiet street relatively near the campus.  wOOt wOOt.

Saturday afternoon it was back to the mall for food and Wedding Crashers, which was predictably unimpressive.  Went to bed early, as we had to get up at like 4:30 and get on the road in order for Ryan to catch a plane in Memphis at like 4.  Before we left, I took a picture of Ryan in front of the Sinclair gas station, with the dinosaur.  This was the only picture I took the whole time we were in Iowa, but I don't really need pictures of corn, honestly.

Sunday was a long day.  I've never been so tired or sore in my life.

Monday I ran around doing errand type things in the morning and then drove down to the coast with my parents to take my nephew Michael home.  We spent the night down there and my folks ate a lot of seafood.

Yesterday we got back, I talked to Moops for a second, and hightailed it up to Greenwood to see Maggie Purifoy, who's about to move to Minnesota.  I came back today and (hopefully) finished up all this apartment business.

I'm so tired of driving I could puke.
