Leave me a comment and I will give you a letter (if you want). Then, write 10 things that you love starting with that letter. Post the list in your journal and expand on them. Give out letters to people who comment in return.
tittamiire gave me the letter "P". So here goes...
TEN THINGS I LOVE ABOUT THE LETTER: “P”
Passion Perfect/Passion and Perfection/Pink Rabbit Consortium: Two awesome sites that archive femslash fanfiction. There are others as well (but they don’t begin with “P”!)
Phys. Ed.: My favourite subject as a student and now as a teacher. I love to coach and play a variety of team and individual sports. It is all about setting goals and working together to achieve them… and having FUN!
PRIDE Festival: End of June in Toronto. Happy, fun, bright, free, liberating, safe, joyous…. what more can I say? (I am also proud of Canadian Military for setting up a recruitment tent and participating in festivities!)
Prometheus: From Stargate SG-1, the Prometheus is Earth’s first capital starship. Introduced in Season 6, it is the first major technological advancement that puts Earth on an “equal footing” with other alien races (temporarily). Samantha Carter appears in a number of episodes where she is in a unique position of problem solving some technological glitch or more of her personal character is revealed.
P8X-987: This is Cassie’s planet: Hanka. As a result of SG-1’s visit to Hanka and subsequent meeting of its only survivor, Cassie returns to Earth. Furthermore it is in this episode that we see a significant shift in Samantha Carter’s character. Her maternal side is exposed in “Singularity” as she returns to Cassie regardless of possible personal danger. We also see the friendship (read ‘subtext’) for Sam and Janet’s relationship develop further as they both take Cassie ‘under their wing’.
Province: Grew up in Ontario (Canada). There is so much diversity; culturally and environmentally. The cities are fairly clean and support music, visual and dramatic arts while the call of pristine wilderness is within hours away.
Portaging: Canoe tripping has always been my passion. A portage means that I am moving into more and more remote wilderness. I am proud to say that I am still able to solo portage my own canoe.
PG Tips: Will always say “yes” to a fresh “cuppa” tea. I have tried, but cannot acquire a taste for coffee. I enjoy most brands of tea but it must be REAL tea … not a fruity concoction. British PG Tips is a solid, reliable brand.
Photography: A hobby of mine which is one of the very few ways that I can express myself artistically in a visual way.
Pontcysyllte Aqueduct: One of the best trips I ever took included navigating the narrowboat (skinny barge) across this 1,007 ft. long aqueduct which spans the valley of the River Dee in Wales. It is beautiful, historic and has breathtaking views.
