Why This Must Be Read: This story was recc’d April 16/06 by meeshy. I have found an additional location where it is archived, so I am reposting this wonderful story. It is a timeless piece which can be read as friendship or a pre-slash. More importantly, the characters and their response to the invasion of Sam’s body by the Entity are believable. It makes up for the abrupt ending to that episode.

Why This Must Be Read: The SGC is to be shut down and its staff scattered to new assignments. Best friends Sam and Janet realize they can't say goodbye. This is a sweet (and eventually intimate story) that examines the shift in Sam and Janet’s relationship as they are forced to acknowledge what they had been taking for granted.

Why This Must Be Read: The ‘shoe is on the other foot’ for a change. Janet suffers the consequences of protecting Cassie and the Stargate Program. SG-1 works to determine the source of the attack and ongoing threat. Sam is forced to examine her feelings as she realizes she could literally lose her ‘adopted’ family. This is an intense story with intrigue, suspense, action and romance.

Why This Must Be Read: This is an intimate look at Sam and Janet as the relationship moves towards a tantalizingly hot conclusion. As both women finally acknowledge and act on the feelings that have drawn them together at the SGC, the reader is taken through the fears, insecurities and ultimate acceptance from Janet’s point of view.

Why This Must Be Read: This is the first of a series that examines an AU where the events and episodes of Stargate are no longer as we knew them. Geonn Cannon is a leader in this genre of fanfiction whose understanding of Sam and Janet (and the entire SGC) draws the reader into a world that is familiar yet different. The characters are the same but their roles and responsibilities at the SGC shift and change from our previous knowledge of the original episodes. An absolute delight to read; not unlike the classic “It’s a Wonderful Life”, Geonn explores the notion of: “what if?”
