I found out some bad news tonight when I got home from class.
I decided to check my email before I went to bed, and I noticed a subject line that seemed wrong: "Memorial for James Pappa."
James was a core member (adult leader) at my church's LifeTeen group when I was in high school. He and his wife, Suzanne, were the two sweetest people ever to help out there. Both of them were good friends to me, supporting me when other people wouldn't, sticking with me when others turned their backs. I love them both very much.
a little while ago, I got an email from Suzanne talking about James having a brain tumor. And it was bad. He had it rough for a long time, but he eventually got better. The tumor was found not long after the birth of their first child, a boy named Gregory. Faith was born this past July, two years younger than her brother almost to the day. I still have the picture Suzanne sent out after she was born. And he was getting better, so much better.
But apparently, on March 9, 2005, James passed away due to some sort of relapse.

So if I seem sad for the next few days, that's why.
And thank you boys for distracting me tonight, it meant a lot. =)
