Oh hay, original design!
This character started as a Scizor gijinka and sort-of Metroid tribute, and went downhill from there. I imagine her name would be Svetlana or something similarly Russian and imposing.
She's got little blaster whatsits on her arms!
And development sketches!
Uh.
Better!
And that dovetails nicely into...
... My trip to the DeYoung with my dearest mother yesterday!
There was an okay fashion exhibit, but the coolest stuff was from this Japanese photographer named Hiroshi Sugimoto. His stuff was really cool and the way he explained his ideas was interesting (I wrote down two nice bits). Funny, normally photos don't do anything for me, but his work just clicked. I don't know. Just check it out!
Here's his site. Also saw the Deborah Oropallo show! Her stuff cracked me up. Got a poster, etc, etc.
Here's her artings. (Go into the 'work' section and hit the leftmost arrows - that photocomposite stuff is what they where exhibiting.)
Since mom was paying we went and ate at the museum cafe. Expensive but highly tasty! Like museum cafes are.
All in all a groovy day!
I almost forgot to make a post about it, but by the way, I also finished the
POKEMONATHON Challenge! All the first 150 in a little over 3 months - yeah, I rule.
