sorry to people who I chat with and then mysteriously disappear. I have new net service and its CRAP unfortuanetly..
Ok so im suppose to be writting this retarded paper on National Gallery of Victoria. Yah I like Australian art but some of the pieces are boring...which they usually are with permanent collections. Ive been going through books and have picked out some pieces I like alot but would probably not be included in the Australian collection even if it was possible. I scanned them in anyways so I could look at them from time to time...
John Glover. This one is included in the collection but I wanted to post it anyways..Early colonists where taught to paint in the european school. When arriving in Australia it was difficult to interperate the new landscape. The gum trees in this piece don't seem all that realistic, but its cool anyways...like something you'd see landing on a different planet.....
Albert Tucker. Images of Modern Evil. These are three oil's are arranged accordingly to earliest and latest in date. All are basically the same subject but as time goes on stripped bare to only nessicities...i.e. lips, eye, pussy and boobs...Tucker hated women with a passion and saw them as a sort of sexual grimlin, prowling the night waiting for the next victim....
Arthur Boyd. God turning this back on mankind. Mass chaos, people parading jesus' head on a stick admist gambling and fighting. Ahhh but their is hope in the upper left hand corner............
George Lambert. Think this is pretty straight forward...
