Question for petowners

Lastnight me and Raf were doing some "making up" from our fighting and stuff from the past week. While we were in the middle of things we forgot that Mahina was still in the room. I looked over and she was sitting on the floor cocking her head side to side looking very confused..we kept going a little bit longer but then she tried to hop on the bed too and started licking my arm. I shooed her away..then she paced all around the room staring.
Did I just scar my dog for life??lol. She hasn't acted weird afterwards but I wonder sometimes if pets understand whats going on or they don't understand..
