Okami Wiki

[ Personality ] :

Oki is a very driven individual. Wanting to help his village when a harsh blizzard falls over it, caused by two demons, he takes up the legendary sword Kutone to defend it. Misguided in the beginning, thinking that demon blood will make his sword glow and free the village from it's icy tomb. It shows him to be headstrong when he's on a mission, leaping into danger on multiple occasions, just to try to make his sword glow. This gets him into trouble, and others, on multiple occasions. Even when defensive of his village, it seems that he would keep his mind on the mission instead, considering when one of his village members were being held captive by Orochi, he chose to go after Orochi himself instead of saving the villager.

He is also very prideful, as shown after this battle, when instead of staying with Amaterasu to make sure the villager was okay, he instead wandered off to lick his wounds. He didn't want anyone to help him when he was hurt, and didn't want to face anyone after the hit he took to his pride, being knocked away so easily by Orochi, and not having his sword glow at the same time.

This recklessness and selfishness is later remedied, though, once he saves Amaterasu from a falling tree, even though he could have finished off the demons and tried to make his sword glow. This act of selflessness caused his sword to glow instead, and now he has learned that he must help others, along with himself. Even though he was clouded before, though, he was still a good-hearted individual, even if a bit naive to his actual goal. He even mentions himself about how foolish he was being about the whole situation when the sword finally glows.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :

Oki is described as a very powerful warrior, so of course physical strength is a must. He doesn't have much more physical strength than that of a normal human, though his instincts and such are much more advanced than a normal human. This comes with the fact that the Oina Tribe consists of half men, half wolf beings. As such, Oki has the power to transform into a wolf, which of course gives him a better sense of hearing, smell, and the like. In both of these forms he has the power to shoot and control icicles, even making the shape of them different. He manages to turn it into a bow for Amaterasu to fire him as the arrow in one of their fights.

He is also very prideful and stubborn, to the point of ignoring his own injuries just so no one would see him at his worst, when he was unsuccessful in making Kutone, his sword, get it's legendary silver glow. It is also shown when Samickle takes over the village, and Oki leaves the village, driven by his stubbornness to not accept a new leader, and takes the legendary sword, Kutone, to protect his village. His protective nature of his village and loved ones can be a weakness, but also a strength. He fights off two very powerful demons to let the old chief and Samickle escape.
