Oh, this is wonderfully creepy! I love the hints of darkness, of what really happened, and the subtlety with which you convey it. And, at the same time, Dumbledore-as-teenager is just priceless, particularly his interactions with McGonagall. A fascinating concept and really well done!

Thank you very much! The concept seemed cool in my head, at least, so I'm glad it translated. :)

What a clever concept and creepy story. This is just awesome!

I've always found it wrong to name children after dead people - they should have a new life. Your story just explains why!

Thank you! I liked the idea that in a magical world, there could be some blood magic involved in naming kids after the dead. I'm glad the concept worked for you!

This is the kind of darkfic that I've missed - subtle and intelligent. In a fandom overrun with its versions of Saw VIII: More Gore, Less Plot this is Hitchcock.

Very clever premise and I enjoyed the characters.

Thank you very much! That's exactly the 'dark' tone I was going for, so it's great to hear that it worked for you. I love dark themes, but I've never done very well with blood-and-guts type of stuff either. I'm glad this came across as suitably creepy. :)

I really liked this. It was very subtle in its darkness, just bordering on creepy in the way that the real Potter children have no idea what's actually happening to them. I love how at the beginning we don't quite understand what's going on but then it unfolds in a wonderfully smart way and we're left going oh my god.

Very nice.

Thank you very much! Eep, yes, I left many things unsaid, and what the Potter children's lives are actually like -- and how they deal with their birthdays -- is one of them. :) I'm glad the structure worked for you eventually, too; I was worried about giving away too much at the beginning (and in the original summary I had!), but now I think a few more hints early on might have worked better. But I'm glad you enjoyed!
