The Set of TWW: A Picspam

Aug 05, 2009 11:01

I was chatting with sheamackenzie last night about various things. One of which being The West Wing. The best show ever made (sorry other obsessions). And I remembered that I have pictures of when I went to the set in Los Angeles in 2004.

One of our really good family friends is married to Tom Rothman (President of 20th Century Fox) and he had connections with John Wells so my family got the opportunity to have a private tour of the lot where TWW was shot. One of my best memories ever.

So last night I found the photos and scanned them. We flew on a Wednesday night and therefore I missed an episode. Privateers. So they gave me the rough cut of it from their bookshelf. I love them so much.

Anyway! Enjoy a blast from the past. I'm 15 here so don't make fun of me. And my face is locked in an expression of awe.

Some pretty cool chairs on set.

Roosevelt Room! There's like a six foot painting on the wall of Teddy Roosevelt. (That's 15 year old me. Being very very overwhelmed)

That would be a nobel prize

Toby's office!!! omg.

Why didn't I steal that poster?

Bonnie!! Get me a copy of the Constitution!

Look! Even the pros suck at photoshop

CJ's Desk!!! You can tell by the flamingo pen. Gail was out sick that day apparently.

Never mind the poster, why didn't I snag this!

"That room has rounded walls..."
Oval Office!

I asked our tour guy why there were no pictures of Elizabeth and if that meant that they hadn't cast her yet. I think he began to get worried about my presence on set... Because I was clearly way too obsessed.

"The President's Balls!!"

We then went to the Gilmore Girls set and the ER set but on the way we found this and we made the tour guy pull over so we could sit on the Gtown steps like Josh.

No idea if it's the right house but it looked right...

Aww I miss those days... Well there's some nostalgia for you guys. Back to work!
