A Brief Explanation

Aug 16, 2004 20:22

In a recent post, there was an opinion expressed by a fellow LJ-er (who is too cowardly to allow someone other than a "friend" to respond, I notice that he lists only two or three) suggesting that anyone voting Republican was an "idiot". In presenting his argument, he makes the mistake of thinking that voting all boils down to money and class ( Read more... )

Now, take your argument one step further....

You said,"They are FOUL FOUL THINGS that kill a fetus that is fully capable of living with slight assistance from medical personnel."

If a child is delivered and can live on it's own and it saves the mother's life, why suck it's brains out? THAT'S what kills me....and that's murder. It's been temporarily halted but the Democrats are trying to reinstate it. My wife is a medical person. She met a young nurse the other day at a conference who confided that she'd just quit her job at a "Family Planning" clinic because they routinely performed partial birth abortion as the healthy mother went into natural child birth. No danger to the mom, nothing induced. The brain was sucked out of one and it lived for two days. The doctors couldn't kill it because it was then legally, murder. What the hell have we become?

I agree with you on the divisiveness in our country. We need more intelligent young men like you and less of the idiots that just want their way. Doesn't it concern you that the democratic party yields to the whims of public opinion polls rather than decide to take a stand on firm moral ground? In the 60's, we pushed to have drugs legalized. Thank heaven they weren't. Holland legalized them and the addicts took over most of their parks. They've since changed their minds. I hate war but I believe in fighting to preserve our freedom. I hate bickering amongst ourselves...and some of the arguments are so stupid. Cynthia McKinney, running for congress here in Georgia, is all up in arms because the National Weather Service doesn't give hurricanes Black names......MAN!

(It's probably because they can't pronounce them but I won't go there)....

Well, I work for an HMO (in a technical/clinical capacity) I don't actually know Enough about the birth industry and the medical procedures to come up with an alternative medical procedure.
If its possible to save both lives, why isn't it being done? I don't have All the information on that case (the one the young woman quit over), there may be circumstances that I do not know about that could influence my decision one way or the other. Your delivery of it makes it sound senseless, but I'd need to see more of the case. I still think that its foul.

As for politicians that go with the will of the people, I'm for that. I'd rather a politician listen to the people who put them into office, and temper it with their own judgement. Government By the People For the People. If we elect someone to represent us, I'd like to think that they will listen to us.
War, I'm not a fan of war and I don't approve of whats going on right now. But, I believe that our soliders deserve our respect and our support. After all they are doing a job I can't and won't do.

Remember the lynch mobs in the south? The looters in the California riots? Those are radical examples but it was done by the people. Spur of the moment legislation is a very dangerous thing.

The instance from the nurse was just one of many instances, according to her. She believed in a mother's right when she was hired but was so appalled at the frequency of PB abortion that she quit in disgust.

Yup, spur of the moment sure is scary. "the mob rules Rome" and all that Jazz, which is why we the voters need to Think when we vote. Do we trust our elected official to make intelligent and informed decisions tempered by their beliefs and intelligence (yes I know thats asking a lot of Any politician).
We put our trust in these people to NOT make bad judgements, and of course when they Do make one, we crucify them on Fox News.
