the big national peter alexander manager came to work yesterday and i felt dumb and useless!
I really still hate being new and not knowing absolutely everything about the whole company.
At Myer if a big boss came in, i'd know absolutely everything they were going to say, and have a response before they even finished their sentence.
Here the vm lady is scary and intimindating and when asks you if you like what she's done, she says it in a patronising way that is like "dont you even dare touch anything in here..."
Now i am completely 100% confident and comfortable in my visual merchandise skills and think i could make the store look perfect but i've been too scared to touch anything coz i dont know like what boundries there with it. Where as at myer, my vm girl would come in, do something and i'd completely change the whole thing, and she'd complain, but it wouldnt matter coz she wouldnt change it back because mine would look a whole load better then what she did.
Ugh, Where at Peter Alexander, Paul the head management guy was playing around with the store and asks like "so what vmming have you done in here kasey? what do you think works?" and i'm like... "........................................................................" and then start blushing like a retard and getting a hot flush, only to be answered with "dont be scared you can do whatever you want, it doesnt have to be perfect as long as it looks neat, Carol is not the be all and end all of visual merchandising, Peter would prefer that the store looks like a dogs breakfest but atleast you've tried. Then not trying something new at all"
My manager and i are both new and we just felt crap all day! Even though i'm sure he didnt mean to make us feel like shit we both did
