Burds :)
Well, here is the latest picture in the Chipping Sparrow/ Cowbird saga. It looks as if only 1 of the three chippies remains. I've been watching vigilantly, and haven't seen any on the ground. It's hard to tell too...maybe there is another one under these guys, but Probably not two others. :( You can see the HUGE cowbird head in the background here, if you are creative. :) That's a chippie in the front. Isn't it adorable???

Next, I found some freshly hatched Robins. I just reached up and shot blindly....I'm not tall enough to look in there :) Kind of ugly, 'eh?

I saved the best for last! I was doing a routine check of all potential nesting spots in the yard here at work, and I found a Mourning Dove nest! Yay! I've never seen one before! I've read about what terrible nest builders doves are....just throw a few sticks on a branch and drop the eggs in. I think the eggs crash to the ground alot. This is obviously not the quality nest that the robins can make, but it isn't as slovenly built as I was expecting. This one ought to be fun to watch! I will post more pics soon!
